All staff / pool workers / approved volunteers are authorised to request a person to leave the facility if they do not comply with any part of this management plan. After reporting the incident, Council may implement a temporary or permanent prohibition on entry to the facility.

Children
under 14yrs

Children (under 14 years) are not allowed entry unless under active supervision of a person 16 years or older.

  • Parents and guardians should actively supervise their children at all times and be dressed and ready to enter a pool.

  • For 0–5 year olds and non-swimmers, a parent or guardian needs to be in the water at all times and within arms’ reach of the child. It is best if you are engaging with your child, i.e. playing with them, talking to them.

  • Constant active supervision is required for children aged 6–10 years old. Parents and carers must be prepared to enter the water with this age group.

  • For 11–14 year olds, it is recommended that parents regularly check on their child by physically going to where they are in or around the water.


Conditions
of Entry

Obey the instructions given to you by staff members at all times.

  • All children under 5 years and non-swimmers are to be always within arm’s reach of the supervising adult.

  • 6-10 years – the parent must be close, maintain consistent visual contact and be prepared to enter the water.

  • Any child under the age of 14 years will not be permitted entry to the centre without the continuous supervision of a person 16 years and over.

  • No sitting on or touching lane ropes.

  • No bombing, no running, no flipping.

  • You enter the facility at your own risk.

  • No balls or ball games of any kind allowed in the facility.

  • Recognised swimwear must be worn, refer to Swimwear Policy signs.

  • No water pistols, boogie boards, recreational surfboards or inflatables are allowed.

  • It is recommended that you shower before entering the water.

  • No eating in or around pool edge.

  • Smoking is prohibited within this facility or within 10m of the entrance.

  • No photos or video recordings are to be taken in the facility unless approved by management.

  • No animals, bikes, scooters or skateboards.

  • No abusive or offensive behaviour, bad language or spitting.

  • Swim in the appropriate lane area.

  • No pushing or rough conduct in or around the pool.

  • Patrons must not damage pool property or facility equipment.

  • Anyone with an infectious or contagious disease or skin complaint must not enter the water or change rooms.

  • Do not litter. Use the bins provided.

  • Drugs and alcohol must not be brought into this facility.

  • People affected by drugs or alcohol will be denied entry.

  • Banned items will be confiscated and returned only upon exit of the facility.

  • Glass and sharp objects are not allowed in the facility.

  • Professional training, coaching or swimming lessons are not permitted.

  • Lane hire is available – see Reception.

Important: Lifeguards are an important safety feature, but they cannot and do not replace the close supervision of a parent or guardian.


 

Sauna and Spa Room

  • Usage of the Sauna and Spa Room requires an additional fee that is payable at the reception desk. Upon payment you will be issued at coloured wristband, which must be worn at all times.

  • Anyone using Sauna and Spa Room does so at their own risk.

  • Recommend usage time limit is 20 minutes for the sauna.

  • People with the following conditions are advised not to use sauna:

    • Heart condition

    • High blood pressure 

    • Pregnancy

    • Under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications

  • Usage of the Sauna and Spa Room is restricted to people over the age the of 16 years.

  • Sauna and Spa Room may be closed at intervals for cleaning purposes.

  • Use of oils, fragrances, shampoos and creams is prohibited at all times.

  • Sauna and Spa Room will be inspected by pool lifeguards at regular intervals.

  • All users must wear recognised swimwear made from lycra or nylon at all times.

  • A towel must be used in the sauna at all times.
